William Hobbs joined Barclays in October 2005, working in the Equity Research team, covering the global consumer sector. then moved into the Investment Strategy team running global equity strategy for the EMEA division.  He is now head of Investment Strategy for UK and Europe.

William is a fellow of the Securities Institute and has over 10 years experience in the financial sector. He has completed a Masters in international business and economic development at Birkbeck, University of London.

Head of Behavioural Finance

Peter looks at how investor attitudes are affected by prevailing market conditions and how this links to investor behaviours. He joined Barclays in 2007 and co-developed, launched and implemented Barclays Wealth and Investment Management’s market leading Investment Philosophy, drawing on behavioural portfolio theory, the psychology of judgment and decision making, and decision sciences.

Head of Client Philanthropy, Barclays Wealth and Investment Management

Emma heads up the Client Philanthropy Service, which aims to engage, educate and support high net worth and key clients in their philanthropic journey. Emma joined Barclays in 2008 after 11 years at Goldman Sachs where she was Executive Director of the Charitable Services Group in EMEA and Asia. She had previously spent 10 years as Fundraiser and Marketing Manager for a major London charity. Emma sits on the board of two private family foundations in the UK and the USA and one charity, in Antigua.

Quantitative Analyst, Barclays

William joined Barclays as a graduate in 2009. His rotations took him to Investment Advisory, where he developed tools to help review portfolios. He is now part of the Quantitative Finance team, responsible for developing the Strategic Asset Allocations (SAAs) that underpin long term diversified investments. William is a CFA charter holder and graduated from Imperial College London with a first class Masters degree in Mathematics and a G-Research award for academic excellence.

Hao Ran Wee

Investment Strategist, Barclays

Hao joined Barclays in September 2015. He is part of the Investment Strategy team, where he is responsible for macroeconomic and quantitative research, which is in turn used to assist the firm’s Tactical Asset Allocation process. Hao is currently a CFA Level II candidate, having previously read Economics at the London School of Economics.

Richard Heggie

Richard Heggie

Head of High Growth & Entrepreneurs Proposition

Has over 15 years’ experience in investment banking and private client wealth management. Prior to this role, Richard co-headed the Proposition and Delivery team for Barclays Global Ultra High Net Worth and Family Offices. He was a key member of the working group leading the integration of Lehman Brothers’ Private Investment Management business in New York.

Henk Potts

Equity Strategist

Henk joined Barclays in 1998 as a Market Analyst for Barclays Stockbrokers focusing on UK equities before moving to Wealth and Investment Management in 2001. Henk analyses a wide variety of asset classes, including equities, currencies and commodities as well as establishing and explaining the effects of macro economic changes on financial markets. Henk is widely known in the media and has regular television appearances.

Greg B Davies

Former Head of Behavioural and Quantitative Investment Philosophy

Greg leads a global team of behavioural and quantitative finance specialists, and is responsible for the design and global implementation of Barclays’ Investment Philosophy. He is an Associate Fellow at Oxford University’s Saïd Business School, and his first book, Behavioural Investment Management, was published in January.

Kevin Gardiner

Former Chief Investment Officer, Europe

Kevin joined Barclays in September 2009. Previously, he was Global Head of Equity Strategy at HSBC’s investment bank, and has worked at several other investment banks and the Bank of England. In 1994, at Morgan Stanley, he wrote the “Celtic Tiger” report on Ireland. Kevin was educated at UWC Atlantic College, the London School of Economics and Cambridge University. He is a Governor at Atlantic College.

Richard joined Barclays in 2002, initially with the Investment Bank and moved to the Wealth and Investment Management division in 2008. He is Head of Corporate & Employer Solutions; a business that delivers employee benefit services to entrepreneurs and corporates. Richard is the Accountable Executive for entrepreneur-related activity across the Wealth and Investment Management division – ensuring the best of Barclays is delivered the right way to this important client segment.

Katharine Photiou

Former Head of Workplace Savings, Barclays Corporate & Employer Solutions

Katharine joined Barclays from Mercer in 2012 to vision, design and build Barclays Beyond Benefits. She has over 20 years experience of employee benefits, pension and workplace savings – specialising in proposition and strategy. Katharine is a graduate of Lancaster University with a BSc degree in Marketing and is passionate about driving innovation in employee benefits.

Hans Olsen

Global Head of Investment Strategy

Hans joined Barclays in the New York office in July 2011. A CFA charter holder, he also sits on the global Tactical Allocation Committee and chairs the Americas Investment Committee. Previously, he was the CIO of J.P. Morgan Private Wealth Management and Bingham Legg Advisors, and a portfolio manager at Emerson Investment Management, where he served as Co-Chairman of the Investment Strategy Committee. Hans holds a BA in Economics from Bates College in Maine and has completed the executive education program on investment decisions and behavioral finance at Harvard University. Hans sits on the Investment Committee of the Spaulding Youth Center and The Massachusetts Council of Churches.
